Valentine's Weekend

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day
Lala and I decided to go away for a long weekend to celebrate.
Can you believe it is our 12th Valentine's Day together

We decided to spend Valentine's Weekend at Stonehenge. Stonehenge is the Earth's heart chakra and we thought how perfect for Valentine's
We drove down on the Thursday (actual Valentine's) and stopped off at Bicester Village where we did a but of shopping :) and had some lunch at Carluccios
We arrived at Stonehenge early evening. We had booked in the Holiday Inn there as it's only 3 miles from the Stonehenge site and also had a good write up on Tripadvisor.

We always use Tripadvisor when booking hotels and restaurants :) We actually just chilled out Valentine's evening drinking prosecco. We were both still full from lunchtime.

We went to see Stonehenge on the Saturday morning. Neither of us had been there before and it was a place we both wanted to see. It was amazing and such wonderful energy. We took an audio tour which was interesting. Can you believe the actual site dates back 5000 years

In the afternoon we drove down to Glastonbury which is a about an hour away from Stonehenge. Lala has been there before but I haven't. It's fabulous.....lots of lovely, interesting quirky new age shops... all the things Lala and I love.

There is also a great choice of places to eat including a few vegetarian cafes there too. We ate at one for lunch called Rainbows End Cafe. The food was delicious.. especially the peanut butter chocolate cherry cake... yummie

More photos of Glastonbury quirkiness :)

On Saturday we decided to go and look at Old Sarum. For some reason I kept calling it Old Sacrum... I must be stressing about the Anatomy exam on my Yoga Teacher Training Course...hahaha.

As you can read, this site too dates back 5000 years

In the afternoon, we popped into Salisbury and ate lunch at a lovely Thai called Thai Sarocha. The food was yummie and the waiters very friendly too.

On Sunday we went to see my sister, Nikki and my niece Emily.  They live in Malmesbury - a very cute market town.

We all went for lunch at a pub called The Smoking Dog - it was cute inside but the service and food were not so good .... but it was great to spend time together...

So.... that's how we celebrated Valentine's this year....
What did you do ?
